BOOK REVIEW: ‘This is Marketing’ by Seth Godin is one of the most universally celebrated books on business brand positioning in modern times.

The biggest failure of marketing is, by its own admission, the failure to explain marketing.

To many, marketing is flyers, trade stands, brochures and a bit of digital. To others, marketing is everything in relation to your business and where it sits in the world.

What Seth Godin does brilliantly is explain this, but also provide tools and context to the reader so that when they look to launch their new business, product or service; they understand the actual challenge at hand and not to try and create a business for everybody.

“Create a business that tries to sell to everybody and you’ll create a business that sells to nobody.”

For me the beauty of Seth Godin’s work is his credibility and also that he’s a great writer and his work just flows - so it’s a very easy read.

Admittedly the book could go into more detail on actually implementing the tactics and strategy involved, however this is saved for his £4000 online course... which to be honest I can’t blame him.


Well worth a read if you’re interested in the topic. 🏆🏆🏆
