BOOK REVIEW: WINNING by Tim Grover

After recently finishing Tim's first book Relentless (review link below) WINNING is Tim's follow up about the mindset of elite performers he dealt with during his impressive career.

As with his first book this mostly revolves around basketball (in particular Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant) which is great for me as a basketball coach and player, but won't be to everyone's taste.

The main crux of the 227 pages was the win-at-all-costs mentality to always be looking for the things which will make you 0.01% better. That WINNING will do everything it can to evade you and if you're not working, you can bet someone else is, and if you want to reach the very top you need to be selfish and put your goal above all else.

Although I do generally love this kind of thing, even when he would relate the concepts to some of his business clients, mostly I enjoyed the stories of the sport stars I idolised as a child.

For anyone into basketball I'd give it 7/10.

For everyone else it's a 5.
